Feels like Medtronic sensors all over again

I want to preface this by saying generally I’ve had a positive Dexcom G6 and G7 experience for the last 6 years. I RARELY calibrate my sensor as I normally feel that it’s pretty close to accurate.

Today, it started chirping that I was going low. All of a sudden it’s honking at me saying I’m below 50mg/dL. And I didn’t feel the symptoms so I decided to finger stick. And then finger stick twice more with a fresh lancet (you know it’s serious when that is replaced), new strips and freshly cleaned finger. My readings were ~198. So I calibrated. And it didn’t accept. So then about 2 hours later (stuck in meeting) I calibrated again. Still wouldn’t accept it. So now I’m waiting to try again.. I’m worried that if I don’t get a message on the app saying that the sensor failed, that Dexcom’s increasingly worse support team will reject the replacement. Luckily it’s currently showing a “brief sensor issue”.. yeah, no duh!

MEANWHILE, it’s been constantly chiming on the app and pump that I’m low. I clear the notification and it comes back 10 minutes later. This is the same crap I dealt with ALL the time with the crappy guardian sensor 3s that Medtronic had back in 2019/2020. Constantly calibrating and the sensor not taking it.

Hope this isn’t a sign of things to come for future G7s.
