Anker's Ask Me Anker Thing had a good breakdown of what GaN actually does vs what marketing says it does
Their Q&A series had someone ask why everyone's talking about GaN and what Anker does differently with it. The product manager's answer was honest. He said GaN is just a material and that most companies swap it in without redesigning anything around it. His analogy was that GaN is the ingredient but the recipe is what matters. Then he got into how they rebuilt their whole system architecture around it which is why their stuff can be so much smaller. Posting here because I know this sub has opinions on GaN marketing vs reality.
