I started playing the online modes of the game not too long ago. It’s as chaotic as usual for a Mario Kart game, but I can also tell that it’s kinda sweaty. I see at least 4 or 5 people running the most optimal character build. (lightweight character+Baby Blooper/Mach Rocket/Robhog) Of course, those people usually make top placements. I wanna just not care and have fun with the game, but you can only go so long getting near dead last over and over again before your patience starts to run a little thin. I’m not asking to get first every single time, just not near the back. It makes me wonder just how much running an optimal build contributes to high placements or not. I know the game is RNG based, but how much is skill a factor? Should I focus less on character builds and more learning the best routes to take with wall riding and grind rails?
