I wish more people valued individuality over stats with character selection
I get that the Swoop + R.O.B Hog combo is great but MKW has one of the widest selections of characters and karts that I’ve personally seen. You could literally be a dolphin on a carpet kart but everyone picks the same thing. What happened to picking characters that fit your personality or looking goofy? In high level lobbies, I understand valuing stats but even level 3000 players try to copy the combo to “be the best.” Just wish I could see some of the other characters get some more attention. It would be hilarious if I got squished by Pianta.
Swoop + ROBHOG spam is out of control
For real, I will swerve out of my way to hit every Swoop in my path, more often than not to my own detriment—that's how much I hate these batcave lobbies. Meta gaming Mario Kart is unbelievably lame behaviour
Respect to the Conkdor at the top of the pile if nothing else though.
How Do I Join a Room on Discord?
Hello everyone! I know this may sound silly, but I've never been on Discord until now. I set up an account on the Mario Kart World Discord Server, but I'm not sure how to actually join a room. Are there scheduled times for sessions, or will there almost always be an active room like in worldwides? Regardless, how do I actually join them? Thank you!
How fun is the game?
Sunday was my birthday, and between Pragmata for Switch 2, Mixtape, and Pokopia as gifts, I also got a year-long subscription to NSO. I still have 45€ left in my gift wallet, PLUS €25 to spend on GameLife. That said, I found a guy selling the Mario Kart code for €40, and now that I have it online, it makes more sense to get it. But I have a feeling the next big thing is coming up, and I'm afraid to spend the leftovers from my birthday.
It takes alot of work to make me hate an item more than the Blue Shell, but the lightning item has surpassed it.
My Hours Aren't Updating
Hey folks! So, I play Mario Kart World A LOT, and it's the only game I have for the Switch 2 so far. However, for some reason, my hour count hasn't updated in over a week. I did some research, and all the possible causes I found either don't apply, or I have tried doing what it told me to do to fix it, like restarting the console, for example. I also read that it can sometimes just update in chunks, but I've played for over a week, and I know for a fact that I've played AT LEAST another 50 hours since it stopped updating. Is it normal for it to take this long, or is there something else that could be the issue I'm not aware of yet?
Think I ran into a hacker
You would say four straight first places would be normal , but this guy was behaving weird. And the fact the first race was a two person race between me and him , just my first race of the session. I've never seen a race of just two people on online mode before. It's just a suspicion , but I would like people to see what the hell this name means.
Intermission tracks are okay but…
Doesn’t it kinda defeat the purpose of an intermission if you can continue to vote for intermission track after intermission track. Offering three tracks where nine times out of ten, two of them are intermission tracks with only one regular track is super weird to me. I hope this is restructured in the future.
I only got Mario Kart World a few weeks ago btw, so maybe I’ll grow to like them or at least understand the thought process of being so heavy on intermission tracks.
The 24 player increase is good for Knockout, but not for online single races
They're too chaotic. There should be an option for 12 player single races
Player VR should be displayed before the race starts so you can switch lobbies if needed
I keep running into the same issue playing KO Tour, I'll be in a lobby where most players have 8000+ VR, I'll play a few times, have some strong finishes, and my points increase. Then I will randomly get put in a lobby where the average VR is about 6000 and it is a lose/lose situation.
- Anything outside of the top 4 results in losing points
- Winning only nets about 10 points
- Any placement outside of the top 4 or so will cost me 40-80+ points
- If you disconnect you lose 100 points
You're essentially forced to do the race with no benefit and 100% risk, which is super frustrating. I'll grind race after race to get up to 8500 only to drop 200+ points in the span of 3 races because of weak lobbies. I wish Nintendo would show player VR as people join so I can try a different lobby if I want to. Alternatively, they could fix matchmaking so this isn't really an issue.
I'm not some amazing player but I believe that if you want to improve you need to race people that are close to your level. Getting Mario karted by 6 random 4000 vr players spamming items is rough, especially when you're the only one with something to lose in the race.

Update Hope
There needs to be more item boxes in free roam. I hate having to either drive back to a course or wait for a parachute to drop one in my area. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I think it could be an easy update to make
What are some easy skips for beginners
I consider myself Pretty good at the game but I want to Improve even further so what are some Skips that are easy to perform consistently yet aren't game intended.
Shroomless Respawn Shortcut
Choco Mountain to Cheep Cheep Falls. Probably not very useful since you lose coins.
I 3D printed a custom Yoshi Joy-Con grip because he deserves to hold the controller for once! 🦖🟢
Yoshi has been carrying Mario on his back for over 30 years, so I figured it was time to give him his own controller. Designed from scratch and printed in classic dino-green. What do you think?
