Need your feedback on my book cover! "The Queue of Ages"

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share the cover for my upcoming book, "The Queue of Ages", written under the pen name An Egyptian Wayfarer.

History textbooks always glorify kings, pharaohs, and grand victories, but they completely forget the ordinary people—the ones who actually built the pyramids, dug the Suez Canal, and laid every brick of civilization, only to end up forgotten and marginalized.

This book dive deep into the endless wait of the common Egyptian. The title reflects a grim metaphor: Egyptian history is a standstill queue. Every generation is born, lives, and dies inside this loop of waiting and endurance, stretching from ancient history to modern times. We change our clothes across eras, but we remain trapped in the exact same line.

A few design details from left to right:

  • The 6 Figures: They represent the evolution of the ordinary Egyptian across time—from pre-dynastic eras, through the Greco-Roman and Islamic periods, all the way to modern times.
  • The Hair Detail: Figures under foreign occupation or rule have strained, textured hair to symbolize suffering, while those under native rule have smoother hair, reflecting a sense of liberation, even if the systemic struggle remains.
  • The Hieroglyphic Borders: The top border spells out "Day" (symbolizing time wasted), and the bottom border spells out "Patience" (the ultimate coping mechanism and curse of the Egyptian submissive nature).

Would love to hear your honest thoughts and first impressions on the cover design and the concept!
