Does having a degree significantly affect the pay?

I am doing bcom with ca but really wanna pursue marketing i was thinking to learn skills of marketing using online courses and certification to get internship create portfolio and get a job but then I would not have a degree. Only a private degree which is useless. I am scared without degree nothing would be relevant. I'm so scared. Please help with some guidance.

Is it worth switching field from finance to marketing????

I'm a ca aspirant but is quiet worried after hearing about bad work life balance of ca and people in finance and im very much interested in getting a job in marketing as I'm very fascinated about a job in creative field. But I have no degree in relevant field and Is creating a portfolio using online courses and certification but is it worth leaving job in finance or should I continue my journey as ca.
