How Is FAU Erlangen’s M.Sc. Autonomy Technologies for International Students?

Hello everyone,

I’m Aayush from India. I recently received an admission offer for the M.Sc. in Autonomy Technologies at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg for Winter Semester 2026/27, and I’m trying to understand the ground reality before making a final decision.

I would really appreciate honest insights from current students, alumni, or professionals in Erlangen/Nuremberg regarding:

• Quality and difficulty level of the program

• Reputation of the Autonomy Technologies course in Germany

• Internship and job opportunities in robotics/autonomous systems/embedded AI/computer vision after graduation

• Current job market situation for international students

• Availability and cost of housing in Erlangen/Nuremberg

• Monthly living expenses realistically

• Part-time job availability for students

• German language expectations for internships/jobs

• Overall student life and challenges Indians commonly face there

My background:

• B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering

• Experience in Computer Vision and Industrial Automation projects

• Interested in robotics, autonomous systems, perception and AI

I would especially appreciate practical and realistic advice — both positives and negatives — so I can make an informed decision.

Thank you!
