Should i take drop or do mca from any private college

So hey everyone I’m 23 in my final sem of bca which currently running late for my university. And i am doing it from a third class University from Rajasthan, my universities is like tier 1000 and its so bad that i’m about to complete my bca but I didn’t learn anything form my college and i just regret it for choosing this and i want to do a mca for that i also took the mah CET mca for that I didn’t prepare at all cuz my 5 sem examination was also at that time and today i got the results for cet which is 48 percentile I’m pretty sure that with this much marks I didn’t even get a third class college. I also fill the nimcet form I didn’t prepare for that at all the exam is in 10-15 days and my college midterms examination is also in that 10 days so i am really confused about should i do mca from any college or take a drop year and prepare for it for nxt year and

Btw i also have a dream about study abroad specially in us though and i know that i am from a middle class family background i can’t go there without a full financial aid support i know some of u would say that take the education loan but I don’t even have a collateral to get that much big loan for us and I don’t know what should i do I’m really confused should take drop for abroad or mca in india or do mca from any college right now plz guys help me guide me to do the right things!!!!

This is about Yocket Fraud, they charged money while did not provide promised services

I'm here to write about Yocket and its unethical services.

So in the month of November, a consultant from Yocket called me for study abroad consulting. I was looking for a Master's option at that point in time, so i agreed to register with them and paid them the initial 5000 Rupees as token money, and the rest money I was supposed to give after the counseling and shortlisting of colleges. For that, the POC told me that she would arrange a call with the concerned person. I shared my resume and other relevant details on 17th November, it's the same day when I made the initial payment. On 18th Nov, they said they'll arrange a call today and i tried to contact the person but she didn't pick up, after that she never contacted me and lately i came to know that she left the Yocket and i was like wtf bhai, why didn't they assign me to somebody else and I was so pissed and despite that i tried calling them on their number mentioned on website and boom, that number is either not working or unreachable, how the fu*k can they do that to anyone.

Once they secured my 5K, they just started ignoring me. After months, Someone else called me from Yocket for marketing, i told them everything and asked for a refund as they failed to provide the services promised. At least they should've conducted the session for B-school selection.

I tried to take this matter to the consumer court, they registered my complaint, and still they mentioned that they're not responsible for anything. attaching their reply below.. (I just want to say them Fu*k off, you guys would never be able to digest that 5k, and you better buy a lock and key out of that 5k, and put that on the company, you Mfs.

We would like to submit our response in relation to the complaint raised by the consumer bearing Student ID YYYYYYY against Yocket (support@yocket.in ). 1. Background of the Case The consumer made a payment of ₹5,000 on 17th November 2025 as a booking amount for Yocket’s Premium Counseling Service. This amount is collected solely to: Reserve the service at a discounted price discussed during the initial consultation, and Secure the pricing against any future revisions in service cost. 2. Nature of the Booking Amount We would like to clarify that: The ₹5,000 paid by the consumer is not the full service fee, but only a partial booking amount. The complete counseling service is initiated only after full payment of the program fee. At the time of payment, it is clearly communicated and explicitly displayed on-screen that: “The booking amount is non-refundable.” We have attached a sample screenshot for reference, which demonstrates that this condition is transparently disclosed to all users prior to payment. 3. Service Status and Communication Post payment, the assigned Sales Advisor informed the consumer that: The service would commence only upon completion of full payment. As a goodwill gesture, the advisor offered one counseling call to address any doubts prior to full enrollment. Our internal records indicate that: There were ongoing discussions regarding scheduling this call. However, no further communication was received from the consumer after 17th November 2025. There was no refusal of service from our side at any point. Additionally: The concerned Sales Advisor is no longer employed with the company. Despite this, the consumer did not reach out to our support team for assistance or escalation. Instead, the complaint was directly filed with the Hon’ble Consumer Forum. 4. Company Position We respectfully submit that: No deficiency in service has occurred, as the service was never denied. The consumer did not complete the payment required to initiate the service. The consumer was informed of the non-refundable nature of the booking amount prior to payment. The company remains willing to provide the agreed services upon receipt of the full payment. 5. Refund Policy As per Yocket’s policy: The booking amount is strictly non-refundable, as it secures discounted pricing and blocks service capacity. This policy is clearly disclosed and consented to by the consumer at the time of transaction. 6. Conclusion In view of the above facts, we respectfully submit that: The complaint is misplaced, as there has been no deficiency or denial of service. The consumer’s request for a refund is not aligned with the agreed terms and conditions. However, in good faith and with intent to resolve the matter amicably, we remain open to: Initiating the counseling services upon full payment.

I Think Many International Undergrads Are Looking at Engineering Admissions the Wrong Way. announcement

Long post, but I genuinely think this is an important conversation for engineering undergrads right now. Especially internationals. If you’re serious about engineering careers, internships, research, semiconductors, robotics, or long-term ROI, this might be worth reading fully.

# A Lot of Engineering Undergrads Are Optimizing for Prestige Instead of Engineering Ecosystem :

The undergraduate engineering admissions conversation feels strangely disconnected from where the industry is actually heading.
We are entering a decade increasingly shaped by:

semiconductors,
embedded systems,
AI infrastructure,
robotics,
advanced manufacturing,
defense tech,
energy systems.

The U.S. CHIPS and Science Act alone triggered massive investment into domestic semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, workforce development, and advanced research ecosystems.

At the same time, multiple industry reports project major shortages in semiconductor and engineering talent over the next decade.

Sources:

* Semiconductor Industry Association:

https://www.semiconductors.org/chipping-away-assessing-and-addressing-the-labor-market-gap-facing-the-u-s-semiconductor-industry/

* Deloitte Semiconductor Workforce Report:

https://www.deloitte.com/us/en/industries/tmt/articles/global-semiconductor-talent-shortage.html

* NIST CHIPS Workforce Update:

https://www.nist.gov/document/archived-building-us-semiconductor-workforce-january-2025-update

Meanwhile, a huge portion of undergraduate admissions discourse still sounds like:

“Can I get into Stanford with 3 clubs and a nonprofit that stopped functioning after 2 weeks?”

A lot of applicants seem to optimize primarily for " Prestige "signaling instead of:

* internship ecosystems,
* co-op systems,
* industry geography,
* employability,
* debt,
* research access,
* Uni - industry -- pipelines,
* mentorship access,
* hands-on engineering experience.

And honestly, one of the most underrated factors for engineering undergrads is:
"" professor accessibility "".

A smaller or less “prestigious” engineering school where:

FOR ex : msoe

* professors know your name,
* classes have 20–30 students,
* undergrads can join labs early,
faculty are approachable,
* research groups actively involve undergraduates,
* mentorship is direct,
* recommendation letters are personal,
* conference participation is encouraged

can sometimes provide a far stronger undergraduate experience than being one student among hundreds in a giant lecture-driven system.

Many students underestimate how important it is to:

* work with professors early,
* publish research,
* attend conferences,
* join engineering clubs,
* build technical projects,
* develop relationships with faculty,
* use professor networks for internships/research opportunities.

Some professors at smaller or mid-sized universities:

* previously worked at MIT, Stanford, CMU, Berkeley, Georgia Tech, etc.
* maintain strong research/industry networks,
* and are significantly more accessible to undergraduates.

Meanwhile, at some large “brand-name” universities:

* undergrad lectures may have hundreds of students,
* teaching assistants handle much of the instruction,
* professors are heavily focused on graduate students, grants, and research labs,
* and undergraduate access to faculty can become highly competitive.

That does NOT mean elite universities are bad.

They are world-class for many reasons.

But for engineering "" undergraduates ""specifically, many applicants seem to underestimate the importance of:

* ecosystem,
* mentorship density,
* research access,
* co-op pipelines,
* industry alignment,
* practical exposure,
* and faculty accessibility.

There’s actual research showing co-op participation improves engineering employment outcomes, compensation, and practical readiness:
* https://www.researchgate.net/publication/259683231_The_Impact_of_Cooperative_Education_on_Academic_Performance_and_Compensation_of_Engineering_Majors

* https://peer.asee.org/the-impact-of-cooperative-education-internships-on-full-time-employment-salaries-of-students-in-computing-sciences.pdf

Some engineering-focused universities that are often underestimated in online discussions:

-> Virginia Tech
-> MSOE
-> Texas A&M
-> University of Cincinnati
-> RIT
-> WPI
-> Colorado School of Mines
-> Waterloo (Canada)

Many of these universities have:

* stronger co-op ecosystems,
* semiconductor/manufacturing proximity,
* practical engineering culture,
* industry-heavy recruiting pipelines,
* accessible faculty,
* lower debt outcomes,
* better internship density

than people realize.

A student graduating with:

* multiple internships,
* embedded/robotics projects,
* semiconductor exposure,
* research experience,
* strong faculty recommendations,
* conference participation,
* and lower debt

can absolutely outperform someone who optimized mainly for prestige signaling.

The market increasingly rewards:

“Can you build systems, conduct research, and work with teams?”

not:

“Did strangers on Reddit recognize your university name?”

And to be clear, I’m NOT saying prestige or elite universities don’t matter.

For master’s, PhD, research-heavy careers, elite labs, or academia, institutional reputation and advisor quality can matter a lot:

* research ecosystem,
* funding,
* lab access,
conference visibility,
* faculty networks,
* recommendation strength,
* industry/research connections.

My point is specifically about undergraduate engineering education.

For undergrad, many students underestimate how much they can build through:

* projects,
* internships,
* co-ops,
* research experience,
* professor mentorship,
* technical depth,
* networking,
* and practical engineering exposure.

A strong undergraduate profile from a practical, industry-connected university can absolutely become a pathway into top-tier MS/PhD programs later.

Studying Bachelors Abroad, which universities should/can i target?

Hi, I’m an Indian 12th grade student currently preparing for JEE and exploring bachelor’s abroad options in technical fields like CS, AI, Data Science, Math or Engineering.

I got 93% in SSC boards, and I was the Head of Student Council in school for 2 years.[Currently in HSC board]

I’m trying to figure out which countries/universities would realistically suit someone like me financially and academically. I’m okay with learning a new language if needed and also fine with doing part-time work during university, but I want to avoid ending up with unmanageable debt unless the ROI is genuinely worth it or scholarships are possible.

I’m mainly interested in:

  • strong technical education
  • research opportunities
  • AI/quant/software related fields
  • good future job opportunities
  • possibility of top master’s/PhD programs later

Would really appreciate honest advice from students already studying abroad, especially Indian students who went through a similar process.

Thanks :)

Is a CS (with AI) masters from UNSW worth it ?

I got accepted into the Master’s program in Computer Science with an AI specialisation. While I really like the university, I wish I had more time to confirm my offer since I’m still waiting to hear back from a few other universities. That said, I’ll most likely move forward with this option, but I needed a bit more conviction before making the final decision. I don’t plan on settling in Sydney long term, but I would definitely like to graduate with a job opportunity in hand. So I would appreciate it if someone could let me know how good the program is actually in terms of reputation, ROI etc.

DHS Moves to End Duration of Status for F-1, J-1, and I Visa Holders

On May 5, 2026, DHS submitted a final rule to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to eliminate the "Duration of Status" (D/S) system for F-1, J-1, and I visa holders.

The D/S system has been in place for over 30 years, allowing students to stay in the US as long as they maintained enrollment, with no fixed end date on their I-94.

The new rule would replace D/S with a fixed admission period capped at four years.

The rule could take effect as early as September 2026.

OPT & STEM OPT - Major Disruptions
Under the current system, OPT and STEM OPT work authorization is tied to the student's underlying D/S status - that link would break under the new rule.

Students approved for OPT or STEM OPT would not automatically be authorized to stay for the full work authorization period.

A separate I-94 extension filing with USCIS would be required to align the stay with the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) validity.

If the I-94 expires before the EAD, the work authorization document becomes meaningless

Notes
*I-94 is the arrival departure record for Non-US and non-permanent residents in the US. Currently it has no end date.
*I-539 is an application to extend/change non-immigrant status or seek reinstatement

studienkolleg route for medicine in germany as a fresh 12th grad

so my parents have been looking for a while lately and want me to do studienkolleg in m-kurs, clear fsp and eventually get into medicine in germany. I gave neet this year, might get a decent score but not enough for govt.

we've been looking abroad for a while and they think this might be the best option for us financially and also career-wise, I agree too because with the marks I'm getting I'm pretty sure I'll get a private college. I've always dreamt of studying abroad and getting out of the Indian education system so this might be my best shot atm

Im applying to other countries for courses like biomedicine/biomedical sciences as well. I have recieved two acceptances for those courses from unis in australia with scholarship, so holding onto those for a while.

I'm just looking for some guidance on this matter, and if any one took a similar route. Also do you apply to studienkolleg directly on websites or through agents? Do you need some level of German before you apply to it?

my qualifications: 97.3 in 12th, 95 in 10th, planning to get to an A2 level before i start applying, band 7 in ielts. not sure if german unis look at ecs closely but I have debate experience, 2 national level olympiad wins and have been actively participating in speaking contests/presentations in my last two years of schooling

Any sort of advice is appreciated:)
