What steps to follow if spouses H4 COS + EAD is in received state and primary applicant is applying for a h1b transfer with new employer?

Imagine i get laid off on May 15th and I am kept on payroll until July 15th. I already have a new job secured and the H1B transfer is completed by June 15th. Can i join the new company in June or will I need to wait till July 15th?
To be eligible for severance i will need to be on payroll till July and cannot terminate my employment sooner.

Will this overlap have any impact on future H1B visa stamps or GC process or background checks?
