Update: Anything Catch Your Eye?

Following everyone's advice, I got some tackle boxes and just plugged away for a few hours, made good progress and decided to switch what I was sorting from components to IC. Someone the other day mentioned that they would be more interested in those than the random components. (Roughly 300 in this photo dump)

I have barely made a dent in the ICs box, but this is a few that caught my eye (shiny), a lot of duplicates as I mixed onto "established stock" of black foam.

I also started the process of counting through the components, but that inventorying will be a separate battle, and post.

Where do I begin?

I inherited a rather significant amount of random parts in boxes and bags.

The photo is just an example of some of the stuff.

What is the best way to catalogue and inventory a mess of components like this?
