Are these pots worth anything? What were they from
I saw a video of some old guitar pots that were worth quite a bit of money. It reminded me that I have these. I have 2 of each kind, smaller ones, and larger double pots. They look like they could go to an old guitar. They are in near perfect condition.
The larger double pots say:
VC10T-T 304-6550
6A125V.AC
3A125V.IA250V.
S.C.CO.
UND.LAB
INC.LIST
smaller ones say:
23-16-00-0
304-6352
Is this still safe to use?
When I was a kid, before the invention of the "rechargeable" battery I used to use my dads Chargatron to recharge non-rechargeable batteries all the time without giving it a second thought. I found it in a drawer today and was wondering if it's still safe to use with newer non rechargeable batteries? I don't plan on using it as I have a newer rechargeable battery kit, but I'm tempted to give it a try.
V-mount Battery for VHS Camcorder
Howdy folks,
I found this mint RCA CC300 at Goodwill the other day and the original battery held enough charge to power it up. The tape deck needs new belts but other than that...everything seems to work.
My question is whether or not a V-mount battery like this one (which has a 12v DC out) could be used to power the camera through its DC input (which seems to also be 12v).
Kinda stupid to spend 8x the price of the camera on a battery, but a power source that's modern, reliable, and portable would be really clutch.
Any thoughts? Would also love to hear about anyone else's experiences with this camera more broadly.
Warm regards
Need help finding a replacement for this online
This is the main power adapter (connects the battery box to the main body of the radio)
for a prc 77 radio but i dont know what its called. In those 3 holes theres 3 more brass tubes that stick out same as the one in the picture. Problem is they were snapped clean off and ive been trying to see if soldering them will even work. If it doesnt could anyone assist me in identifying this component and hopefully order one online thanks!
Can anyone help me identify this?
Hello everyone, I need help to identify this sound system. I've searched the model but didn't find any information.
Does anyone know the brand?
Thanks!
Webster’s Spelling Correction
I don’t remember where I got this, probably a thrift store, but I just found it in my shed and swapped the battery. I was pleasantly surprised to see it work!
7 up telescoping lamp
I need help I’m trying to figure out how to fix this lamp I don’t know what this part is?
Absolute stretch
Apologies in advance. Hardly 'electronics' as the electrical component seems to be 2 leaf switches routed to contacts.. Tenuous I know, but thought the Reddit swarm will point me to the right place.. (thanks)
Just found this in my garage - moving house - and wondered if this was of interest to anyone..
Thing is, other than reading 'Rudder and Elevator Unit Automatic Controls Mk IV' I'm clueless on where to donate.
Yes I could DDG it and vanish down rabbitholes - but.. I am mainly trying to move house!
A little broken but still beautiful 1941-42 Telechtron 6B13 1 of 6105 sold
Unfortunately I somehow broke the glass on my first day of ownership which absolutely crushed my soul but it’s otherwise in pristine condition and still mostly works. The chime needs some work but it still holds time true
How do you properly test old resistors?
I’m really new to retrocomputing and recently picked up an old board from a broken system because I wanted to learn by messing around with repairs. One thing confusing me a lot right now is figuring out whether old resistors are still good or not. Some of them look perfectly fine visually. No cracks, no burns, no obvious damage. But then I keep reading stories about resistors drifting out of spec over time even when they still look normal outside. I’ve been checking them with a basic multimeter, but sometimes the readings are slightly different from the color bands and I can’t tell if that’s normal tolerance or a bad resistor. I’m also unsure whether I should remove old resistors from the board before testing. Some people say you can measure them in circuit while others say surrounding components affect readings too much. I even considered getting replacement assortments people mentioned from online electronics suppliers, but I’m nervous about introducing unreliable parts into the repair. For beginners learning retro repairs, what’s the safest and simplest way to test old resistors properly?
50's era telephone switch, project ideas ?
Just finished disassembling and carefully degressing this old Ericsson telephone switch board. I found the manufacturer's documentation and I will measure resistance, voltage to clic. I was thinking of making some type of music instruments since those clicks are quite nice on their own. Any other ideas ?
Replacement Ribbon cables
Does anyone know where to find new "awm 21107" 26 pin .5 pitch (approx 16 inches long) ribbon cable for my beloved 300 dvd changer?
