Extended hyponychium makes my nails stick past the pads -- how to best remove contacts?
My nails are a bit different than normal people nails that I often see in tutorials etc too in so that they're attached a bit "further" protruded from the edge of my fingers/thumb and connected via the skin/hyponychium under the nails. Seems like normal nails have their regular skintip BEYOND the nail end.
I almost always have trouble taking out contact lenses (Alcon PrecisionOne verofilcon) and always end up pinching with one fingernail and pad of another finger (index+thumb) and it's always a "Did I use the nail? did I pinch it correctly?" game. It's always in one eye or another too lol. Sometimes right eye, sometimes left eye. I have tried everything. Slide towards the outer edge, slide down etc etc. Doesn't seem to work. Only thing that works with taking them out is slide out and down a bit and then pinch but that results in 1 nail + pad or some such (probably).
Amazing problem to have lol.
I'm ABLE to take the lenses out btw, it's just a "ah shit did I scratch the eye? will it be bad long term" game. I've attached a few photos for you to see what I am talking about. Any tips?
Album (Selfhosted, might be slow, sorry)
Expanded photo with diagram on imgur if you can't access above album for what I am talking about. As you can see, I am unable to trim my nails beyond that point. It sorta hurts at that point as is.
You can tell I hate the "how to do it uwu" Youtube tutorials a bit by now.
