Help with night weaning
My 7.5 month old goes to sleep independently at bedtime, wakes up once for a feed, then goes back to sleep til morning (10.5 - 11 hour night). It's very manageable, but I'm not seeing this ending anytime soon, and sometimes he does have additional wake-ups, though he usually puts himself back to sleep. If I wait it out, he might go back to sleep for another hour, but then he's up again, so I see no point in pushing it off.
I know it could be much worse, but I'd like to work towards him sleeping through the night. He does seem genuinely hungry during his night feed, which I've managed to cut down a bit, but if I give him any less, he won't go until morning after that. During the day, he gets 30 - 35 oz formula, and he gets a decent amount of solids. I started squeezing in another small bottle to up the calories, but it hasn't made much difference. He's a big boy at 22 pounds, for reference. Is he just not getting enough during the day, or is his night feed just a habit at this point?
His schedule is 3.5/3.5/4, though naps are inconsistent in length so I adjust accordingly.
Any advice would be appreciated.
