I can finally call this rifle finished and am done adding stuff to it. After a nightmare of putting new parts in and replacing parts that the old owner neglected to care for and had gotten to the point of irreparability, its finally done and i cant wait to get it to the range. Finally got the last bit of painting done. All i need is my FDE suppressor and the whole thing will be done

So, dipping my hands into Cerakote for the first time, I wanted to specifically attempt to use the fill pen for the manufacturers stamp on my DS-15. Im no professional by any means or stretch of the word, but id say my first time attempting was okay. I wasnt fully prepared for the cleaning of the excess of Cerakote as I didnt have proper towels for wiping it away, but, found out that coffee filters provide a…acceptable lint-free way to wipe away with acetone. All in all, its a process to prep and do, but, in the end, the reward is worth the trouble; at least in my eye. What about you guys? Do ya’ll have any experience with Cerakoting with a fill pen? Id love to hear any tips any of you may have to make the next time a little more…easier lol

Last Friday I picked up my first AR; im primarily a C&R so this is my first step into modern semi-auto’s. Its a Dark Storm Industries DS-15 that was used. Had some wonky aftermarkets that were already in it and decided to swap them out with new parts along with a bunch of others. Swapped out the BCG that was in it since it had no manufacturers markings or indication of who made it (was also apparent it ran god knows how many rounds and was never cleaned); it does have (i believe) a Bear Creek Arsenal spiral fluted barrel in .223 Wylde.

I plan on getting some other parts like the JP Enterprise Silent Buffer system and possibly a Geissle Trigger. I have a new muzzle brake on the way thats a Dead Air Keymount Brake for when i eventually get a suppressor. The only thing i still dont know the manufacturer on is the upper receiver. Its not stamped or marked with a manufacturer name or emblem so I may replace it with a DSI OEM upper to have a matching receiver set.

Pulled everything out to do a quick reoil for storage as I havent done so in about 6 months. Put a little extra grease in some spots but thought id snap a picture since I had them all out and together at once! From right to left:

•Springfield Armory M1 Garand. Receiver dated 1944 and barrel re-armored and dated 1953; all matching S/N’s

• July, 1944 Remington Arms M1903A3 all matching S/N’s

• Post-War Scrubbed CZ BRNO K98k all matching S/N’s still with eagle proof markings along barrel
