DFW program options/suggestions

Hello all from the DFW area,

I'll try to keep all of this brief! I'm fairly new to exploring EMS and EMT-b careers, there's a lot of moving/settling parts in life at the moment and I've been wanting a career change for some decent time now (who would've guessed a master's in music composition wouldn't exactly be a golden ticket haha, but no regrets regardless!).

And after some pretty intensive deliberation and consideration, I feel confident that pursuing EMS is something I see bringing fulfillment down the road. Different aspects of the perceived workload really interest me and I've worked a few basic oddball clinic/medical jobs here and there to pay bills over the years, but want something more involved with future career growth.

Not to mention my partner is set to start her medical residency next year (proud of her!) and I'd like a job that provides some level of flexibility in terms of relocating etc 😬

With that being said, I was hoping for some input or even suggestions on different EMT-b programs in the DFW area.

Currently my biggest limiting factor is honestly just time, I'm working a pretty standard 9 to 5 as a RBT that offers a good amount of scheduling leeway all things considered.

Anything that allows me to attend course work in the afternoons is my biggest ideal. Price wise, I'm not too restricted; anything at or around the $2000 range (give or take a few hundreds) is realistic.

With all that said, theres a few handful of programs I was eye balling and was hoping for some comments on - or maybe just some key items I'm not aware to look out for:

RC Health Services in Fort worth: 14 week Hybrid T/Th 6-10 pm

Dallas EMS Universal Education: 10 Week Sat/Sun 9-5:30 (most appealing atm)

Elite EMT Academy: Hybrid 6 month course, self paced, rough website (skeptical?)

FastEMS: 2 week crash course, most expensive and most berated online seemingly

EMERG: 10 to 14 Weeks M/W 6-10 and Sat 9-5

Atrava : Doesn't specify times or if prepares for NREMT exam, but highly reviewed BLS work

These were just the main ones that caught my eye that had websites that had sufficient information and seemed credible.

If anyone has any comments on any of these programs - whethers its to approve of or warn me of - it's all appreciated.

Or even new suggestions are welcome.

(I imagine Tarrant county college and Dallas Community College are going to be mentioned, and sadly I tried on a few separate occasions to enroll in courses when advised, and the seats/wait-list just fill up immediately ☹️ + the price and completion time are all comparable)

Thank you all for your time in advance and have a great day or night.

Steering Wheel Swapping

Hello all,

I bought a 2021 GMC canyon elevation trim back in January (barely 30k miles and single owner at $19,000!) and tbh the trucks been phenomenal. Even if the actual trim itself is fairly basic, I've had no serious issues or qualms.

With that said, the only thing that irks me is the lack of stereo controls on the steering wheel - my previous 2 cars had them so it's just a creature comfort I'm used to.

I saw that the 2021 GMC canyon AT 4 trim has the radio controls on the wheel and was wondering if I'd be able to buy a used 2021 At 4 wheel and fit it onto the elevation trim?

Or is there some hardware components missing from the car itself.

TDLR; can I take an at4 wheel and put it on the elevation trim and be able to use the at4 wheels' functions.
