Splitting nighttime duties
New Dad here. My son is almost 2 weeks old. I’m very blessed to have 4 weeks of bonding leave that I’m currently on right now but I’m concerned about what happens when I go back to work and wanted to get some advice from some objective people.
A little about our current situation:
We’re formula feeding and because of that we are both “working” 6 hour shifts over the nighttime hours to make sure we both get “Enough” uninterrupted sleep.
My wife will be SAH once I go back to work.
I work a normal Monday-Friday schedule in an office based job with some overnight travel requirements (Less than 25% travel)
So my question to those of you that have been through this before is this… how did you schedule the overnight stuff once one or both of you went back to work? My main concern is making sure that I’m not letting my wife get overloaded because I have to get up and go to work at 6 am and she doesn’t while still getting enough sleep that my work performance doesn’t suffer. I have no opinions on this, just looking for advice.
