Does LECOM Admit Applicants From Alternate List?

Received the news that I was offered Alternate List. Does LECOM admit applicants off the Alternate List? Anyone have past experience with this? What is the difference between Alternate List and Waitlist? Can you still be admitted if offered Alternate? Thank you guys. Wish you all the best this cycle!

Waiting on Decision?

Noticed people on here got A's today! Congrats to them! Anyone else still waiting for a Decision? I had my II received from LECOM first week of July, I believe. I have not heard back since. Are Decisions sent out periodically?

Will DOs take a January 2027 MCAT for this current cycle??

Hi everyone,

I've decided that I'm not ready to take my MCAT yet. Unfortunately, all of the August and September test dates are already full, so my only option is to take it in January 2027. While that's not what I originally planned, I actually feel much more comfortable with that timeline because it will give me enough time to thoroughly review the content, complete plenty of practice questions, and take multiple full-length exams.

That said, I still really want to apply during the current 2026–2027 application cycle. My goal is to start medical school in Fall 2027, and I'd really like to avoid waiting another year and matriculating in Fall 2028.

My questions are:

  • Will a January 2027 MCAT still be considered for DO schools during this current application cycle?
  • I don't have a previous MCAT score.
  • If my score is released in February, is it too late to apply to DO schools at that point, or do I still have a realistic chance of receiving interviews and acceptances?

I'm honestly open to attending any DO school if given the opportunity, including schools like KansasCOM or LMU-DCOM. I just want to know if applying with a January MCAT is still a viable path.

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

AIS instead of MCAT for LECOM?

Does LECOM take AIS applicants who apply instead of an MCAT? Second question is what if your MCAT is low? (490 or below) Would LECOM still take an AIS applicant who has a score of above 120?

II from LECOM - Erie (Top Choice)

Hi,

I'm an applicant for the Regular Decision... I got an II from LECOM - Erie. What does that mean about my chances of being admitted, if its my top choice school?

Received Interview Invite from LECOM

Hello everyone!

I received an II from LECOM! It is the virtual format... Since the application cycle opened a month or two ago, does interviewing early improve the chances of receiving an acceptance? LECOM is currently my top choice, especially since I'm from Pennsylvania, so I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any insight you may have. Thank you!

AIS vs MCAT?

Hi!

I'm planning on applying to LECOM for this upcoming cycle... I was wondering if LECOM views applicants who apply with an AIS vs. an MCAT the same or differently? I do have an MCAT score, but it is well below the 50% percentile (491) but I have an AIS score of 128... Would that suffice for admissions? I was considering retaking the MCAT to apply to more schools, but would an AIS score that meets LECOM's requirements be enough to gain admission? Please advice!

Secondary for LECOM?

Anyone else get a secondary from LECOM? Asking me if I would like to use my ACT or SAT scores in lieu of MCAT scores... Does every applicant get asked this question? Do they actually hold the same weight between AIS and MCAT??

Option to Submit AIS on AACOMAS Application?

Hi everyone,

Where do we fill in our AIS score on the AACOMAS application? It only gives me an option to enter my MCAT scores? Will LECOM reach out after we have submitted our application or is there somewhere we can input our AIS score on the actual application?
