My cat has lost an alarming amount of weight quickly

Hello all, I have a cat, she's 21, over Christmas she was nice and healthy, not fat or anything just a bit cuncky. Shes neutered, but she had kittens at age 2. She's till sonewhat active. She's had issues loosing fur before now, but that was due to a allergy to mites. Were from the UK.

She's lost an alarming amount of weight, to the point you can feel her bones and see them, in certain places. She also struggles to wash herself, but ive been handling that with dreamies and puppy wipes.

She seams ok, no obvious signs of distress or agitation, she's eating and drinking fine, still coming over for pets, but im super worried, this cat has been with me most of my life, and despite her senile and grumpy behaviour, she's awsome.

I really could use some advice, is this an old cat thing, or does it warrant a trip to the vets? She need her claws checking to, as they are getting long anyway, but I'm nervous shes developed cancer or something else.
