Manager exposed 30+ team member phone numbers in a group chat for the "Your Voice" survey. Am I overreacting?
Hey guys, looking for some perspective on a workplace situation.
Today, my store management team sent out a reminder to complete the "Your Voice" survey before it closes tomorrow (May 18th). For context, I’m permanent part-time and already did it days ago, so the reminder wasn't even relevant to me.
The problem is how they sent it. Instead of using a standard bulk SMS system, the managers created a massive group text with me and over 30 other team members to drop a photo of the QR code.
Because of this:
My personal mobile number has been broadcast to dozens of coworkers without my consent.
Everyone else's contact info is completely exposed, too.
I’m honestly quite annoyed about this breach of privacy and I’m seriously considering taking this straight to Advisory. Am I blowing this out of proportion, or is this a massive red flag?
