Hi,

I used to play the format quite a lot, between 2022 and early 2025. I liked it, it felt balanced and fairly low power level to make it feel distinct from modern and legacy.

I then got back into it on Arena in the past few months. What the hell happened to the power level?

The meta seems like a collection of the most ridiculous things you can do in the first three turns, with the given card pool: Budgermole Cub in every green deck, same Izzet package in every deck that supports it, Mox Amber randomly appearing in many creature decks, an influx of many new wraths that push out all but the best creature strategies... It feels to me like a weird version of Commander, but without good interaction (I feel only Black is adequately prepared thanks to the 1 mana interaction, but the other colors lag behind).

Am I wrong? It kinda feels like a 60 cards version of casual Commander as in gameplay.
