Credit union refuses to give payoff balance for vehicle, advice please?

Hi all, 26F here. I have a vehicle that I bought at 20 years old for 26K. I am finally nearing the end of the contract I believe I am now under $10,000 but the credit union I went through has made the process of paying for my vehicle extremely difficult the lower my balance gets. Long story short when I took out the vehicle they also gave me a $1,000 credit card that I defaulted on (dumb college student please don’t judge me). I have full intention to pay the credit card off once I am closer to paying my car loan off.

The credit union shut down my access to online banking once that credit card defaulted, therefore I could no longer pay via app only via in person branch or bank wire. Which is fine I have no problem with that, today I called to make my payment and it was processed however they explained that they are now refusing to give me my payoff balance as I have to speak with one person who will give me the balance. This has never happened before I am usually able to get the balance from agents.

I called the person and of course her phone went to voicemail, I honestly have no idea what to do I will keep making my payments but is this ethical? I understand it’s my fault for defaulting on my credit card and I will pay it in full, I just feel like it’s unfair to make me go through so many hoops when I am literally just trying to get my car paid off.

Please any advice would help I don’t really have anyone else to ask this advice (hence the poor financial decisions earlier on in life). Thanks all.

Tips for State Exam NV

Hi all!

I completed my CNA class in March and received my certificate. I’m also enrolled in nursing school full time so I’ve been focusing on finishing the term before getting the state license. My term ends next month and I’m ready to start preparing for the state exam, any tips? I am nervous for written because hopefully I haven’t forgotten everything.

I still feel pretty confident on skills, everything except manual BP. (Which I plan on practicing more prior to exam.) any tips are appreciated!
