Recently, I've been interested in month names, days of the week names and season names, so I thought I'd look through the SSA data and see how many babies were given each name in 2025. Note that if a name is not on the list, it was given to fewer than five babies born that year, as they withhold those names for privacy reasons.

Just for some comparative stats, only two girl names (Sarah and Elizabeth) were present in both the 1985 Top 20 and the 2025 Top 100. However, 15 boy names were present in both the 1985 Top 20 and the 2025 Top 100.

Excluding James and William, which ranked higher in 2025 than 1985, the average difference between the 1985 rank and the 2025 rank was 85.9 ranks. In comparison, in the girl list, the average difference between the 1985 rank and the 2025 rank was 464.8 ranks.

Now that the 2025 US data has been released, I thought it would be interesting to see where the top 20 girl names in 1985 are ranked today.

This is probably a long shot, but I'm looking for a YA book set in a world identical to ours, except that everyone has some sort of magical gift, and the main character has the ability to unlock locks? There's also another girl who has the ability to make people forget about her, and that's sort of the plot of the book - eventually, you realise the main character has forgotten about this other girl.

I probably read it in around 2018/2019. Any help would be appreciated, TIA :)
