PSA: Leaving chairs tied to a railing doesn’t reserve the railing

To the guy and his group at the Cambridge side of the fireworks who tied flimsy chairs to the railing and then showed up five minutes before the show: that was unbelievably entitled.
People had been standing there, waiting, holding their spots like normal human beings. You don’t get to reserve public space with empty chairs, disappear for hours, and then barge in at the last minute like you own the railing. Pushing through people, arguing, and acting like everyone else was wrong for existing near your “reserved” chairs was just obnoxious.
It’s a public event. If you want a good spot, show up and stay there. Don’t leave furniture as a placeholder and then bully your way back in right before the fireworks start.
Cambridge fireworks were great. That behavior was not.
