Looking for a Mom’s with pre-k kids

Hey there Beaverton moms! I’m looking to join a mom’s group or connect with moms near by. I’m in the Cedar Hills area, I have an almost 5 year old daughter, and I’m in my early 40s. We like to swim at Villa, hang out at the house and play, go to the park, ride bikes, go to the movies, play at the nickel arcade, crafting, gardening, and just overall have fun! Looking for mom’s who live near by and have kids close in age. Not totally sure how to connect on here, so message me if you’re interested?

Elementary school options

I’m looking for feedback about the schools near me to learn more about them and what my options are.

I’m in the Barnes school district and I have heard horrible things from many parents in my neighborhood, would love to hear from other parents.

I’ve also heard William walker isn’t great but might be getting better since they have a new principle?

I’m interested in Ridgewood but learned it’s not earthquake safe and they might be closing that school down? What are the chances of being able to appeal to be in the Ridgewood district?

Lastly, I am also interested in charter schools and MSB but I know it’s hard to get in to the charter schools and MSB is expensive (I don’t think I qualify for scholarships). I don’t even know which charter schools are worth applying for.

Anyways, I know that’s a lot, I’ve been agonizing over where to send my kid since before she was born. I feel like all my options are not great. Any advice is much appreciated!

THPRD Summer Camp Feedback

My 4.5 year old will be starting an outdoor camp this summer at Cedar Hills Community Center. This will be her first camp ever. I am trying to gauge what to expect from the camp. Does anybody have an experience putting their preschooler in THPRD camps? The things I want to know more about is the following:

-Who are the types of people supervising the camps?
-What is the camp counselor's experience with preschool kids.
-Are the camp counselors certified in CPR/First Aid?
-How are the kid's safety being monitored (e.g. ensuring community members (not a part of the camps) are not engaging with the kids since it's a public space, ensuring the kids are being monitored for heat issues (summer is hot), and ensuring the kids are being treated well within the camp).

I spoke with the program coordinator about these things and his answers did not give me much confidence that the kids were being monitored well. Any insight or experience you may have would be greatly appreciated!
