PL help/rant

My old process lead that over saw petcare got fired. He had a very gate keep info mindset and didn’t teach me and the rest of the petcare team anything close to manager tasks/ knowledge and I noticed (with more searching I do) that some of the things he made out to be manager knowledge were actually just associate/specialist knowledge. I’ve been learning more and more just digging around on fetch, etc. before he was even fired and I’m pissed. Today, I was brought into the office and they want me to take his place which is nice but at the same time there are things I don’t know because he had a “taking my secrets to the grave” mentality. All the other managers in my store are experience and truck facing with very little petcare experience. I know a lot of physical stuff and things on the computer. But I definitely noticed that he did a lot on the computer for petcare and wouldn’t teach us when we asked. What would you say I need to learn and master to be a good petcare PL? What tasks are ACTUALLY just for management and what would you teach someone taking this role?
