Chameleon?

Okay guys, I really just need some good opinions. There’s a chameleon at the store I work at — she’s my best buddy. It’s a regular veiled chameleon, maybe 8 months old. Often when the tank gets too warm or when she starts frantically digging at the front of the glass, I’ll offer my hand to her. Whether she takes it or not is completely up to her (though she usually will).

I know reptiles don’t feel love or affection as we do and she likely recognizes that I both feed and won’t hurt her. She’s never puffed or hissed at me and she’s always light green with darker green stripes when she climbs around me. She loves hanging out on my head — likely because it’s the highest part of my body.

Be honest, should I set up a tank and bring her home? Or let someone else build trust with her and take her home? Is she going to hate me as she gets older — I’ve heard horror stories of that happening with veiled chameleons as they grow older because they’re more keen to isolation.

Again, I know chameleons are very sensitive, but idk if it would be the right or wrong choice to take her home with me.

(I might have also gendered her wrong, we haven’t had many male chameleons so I apologize if I did.)

Ch01 POG

so opex said that we can go ahead and set ch01 for nightmare before Christmas, and that pog central will have the updated pog, well when I go into pog central it’s just the current pog and when I click on the opex it just comes up with with picture in the post. I guess I’m just going to wing it? Because I have the backer paper, I have the product. I just dont have the poh. Also the playbook is a picture of the may pog 🤦‍♀️ why????

Petco grooming

I just had a walk through with two corporate manager and I come to find out they searched everyone’s grooming drawers and even threw away my drink and took a spray out of my drawers that I bought at Petco. Has this happen to anyone else’s Petco? And if so are they allowed to look at your private belongings.

Pet groomer pay questions.

Hi. I’m gonna be a new groomer starting at Petsmart and my hourly rate they offered me is going to be starting at 24$/hour.
I know groomers can make commissions and I’m wondering how it works and what I need to make to be eligible to receive said commissions.
If anyone could help answer my question I’d appreciate it. Thank you all in advance

Is there a master list of Male vs. Female only stores?

Edit: thank you for the help y’all! You guys are great!! It seems the app is pretty good for gauging which stores carry males vs female animals even if it’s not great for what is actively in stock!

I’ve been being bounced around by what feels like 2/3s of the pet-smarts in a 30 mile radius of me. I had been looking for female fancy mice for about a month now, and it took until literally this morning (probably my 15th visit to a petsmart this month, and my 3rd visit to this store specifically) was an employee kind enough to inform me that petsmarts generally sold by gender. This would have been super helpful had I been told sooner, considering I had asked about their stock each time just in case I was missing something 🫠. I was informed of which location closest to me sold females, and when I drove there, it turned out to be male only as well. I was then given a list of three stores that are female only, to which I called this time (probably also should’ve done that before, definitely half my fault too) and 2/3 stores this time thankfully stocked female fancy mice. One of the stores only sold fish, RIP.

I’ve looked on the petsmart website and it doesn’t seem to list it anywhere there (I might just be blind and dumb) so I’m wondering if there’s just a Google doc or something floating around somewhere so I can hopefully avoid this mishap in the future lol.

you want perfect activation numbers? make it easier for customers to activate!

we don’t have time to be spending 5+ minutes on a single customer who can’t figure out how to use their phones! and even worse: the stores have shitty ass wifi! i have a line of people staring me down because sharon doesn’t know her damn password!

we should have a button on the registers that we can press to activate any eligible offers if they have an account with us, but i guess it’s easier to show them step by step on their phones lllmmmfffaaaoooo

Using your own number for non-members?

So before I start this, I would like to say I have NOT done this before but I was wondering, is it a fireable offense to do so?
Say you have someone buying a bunch of stuff that applies for rewards in the app that they want but don’t want to make an account, what if you used your account? (Or if you just did it because they don’t have one and you want the points) Would you get in trouble?
I can kinda see why it would be an issue from a working standpoint but not morally, and honestly barely from a working point. Once again I haven’t done this before, but I was curious.

Can I pick up shifts at another store?

I have been offered a job, not officially, since there's a process, but basically. Unfortunately, I applied for the full-time position and got called, so I assumed it was for full-time hours. It's not. They said they could only guarantee me 30 hours a week, and that puts me paycheck to paycheck. I only need like $200 more a month.

Is it easy/possible to pick up shifts, maybe at other stores?

Can managers question or guilt you for calling out sick?

So we have this one manager who continues to question or guilt people when they call out. From what I’ve heard (and not sure if it’s company policy, our particular state or our district/store policy) managers can’t deny or question why your calling out (as long as it’s not an obvious on going occurrence and at that point I think they’d start requesting a dr note).
He’s been told multiple times by the store leader to stop doing that..but he keeps on. He’s upset numerous associates because they’ll call to let the store know they’re sick, and then he’ll basically guilt them into coming in and then they usually end up having to leave anyway BECAUSE they’re sick.

Tonight one of the groomers called the store and I happened to be standing there when he took the call and basically they told him they were calling out because they didn’t feel good and had a fever. His response was “well how do you know your gonna have a fever tomorrow? I’d just hate to take you off the schedule and then you be fine. How about I’ll leave a note and then you can call us in the morning if you’re still feeling feverish”…..

What is the best pet name you have ever heard at PetSmart from a pet parent?

Just started working at PetSmart as a pet associate. One of my favorite parts of this job is meeting pet parents' pets and asking questions about them, offering free dog treats, etc. I want to know what the best pet name you have ever heard on the job!
