Next step without Play Station

Sony's latest announcement has really got me thinking.

I have a 3-year-old son, and my wife and I are hoping to have another child in the near future. Because of that, it's becoming harder and harder to find time to play on my PS5, especially when everyone is home. I end up using my Switch much more since I can just pick it up and play anywhere.

The downside is that the Switch isn't powerful enough for a lot of the games I'd like to play, so I've been relying on both systems.

Now I'm seriously considering either waiting for the next Steam Deck or getting a gaming laptop instead. It would be a pretty big change after years of mainly playing on consoles, but handheld gaming just fits my lifestyle so much better now.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Did you switch to PC handhelds or gaming laptops? Do you regret moving away from consoles, or was it the right decision?
