UPS Package Misrouting and Return to Sender Issue
I ordered two headphones from Sweetwater to my correct address in NC. UPS tracking initially showed a “delivery attempt” at around 5 AM, but there was never an actual delivery attempt made to my apartment (confirmed by Ring camera footage/no alerts).
After that, UPS automatically rerouted the package to a UPS Access Point. The issue was that my UPS My Choice account still had an old preferred Access Point saved from when I previously lived in PA, so the system incorrectly associated the package with a Pennsylvania pickup location even though the shipping address itself was correct in North Carolina.
I then paid an additional $8 to reroute the package to a local UPS Access Point in North Carolina. The package still was not delivered, and tracking later updated to “Return to Sender.”
When I contacted UPS, I was informed there are service disruption issues affecting deliveries in my area. UPS also stated that the local shipping center would contact me directly regarding the situation.
This whole thing has been a huge headache and has infuriated me, this package was initially supposed to be delivered last Wednesday and it has been a week and nothing has come of it. The reason the access point location was not changed was due to me not have ordered anything that I thought would be sent via UPS in a long time, I bought something from a music store and every single time I’ve bought from them within the last few years it always gets sent through FedEx. This one time it got sent through UPS and everything has become complicated. At this point, I am trying to determine whether the package can still be held locally for pickup instead of being returned to sender.
