Trouble installing aftermarket speakers on my 99

I bought some Hertz 6.5" speakers from crutchfield rated to fit my 99 4runner to replace the stock. I thought the install would be relatively straightforward. I bought some aftermarket adpater mounts. While the speakers fit nice and flush in the adapters, it looks like i need to fit those back into the original carrier frame. I just don't see how or where to screw the adapter into the OEM frame. It also doesn't appear I can just screw the new adapters into the doorframe either. Anyone got any ideas?

I woke up on payday with a negative balance in my account. I messaged my work chat and everyone got paid except my fellow Vancity member colleagues. I called the line and an automated message said "processing has been delayed overnight processing taking longer than usual." "All transactions will be updated once processing is complete." No timeline given. Its 8:30am on payday and I've less than zero in my chequing account. Personally I'll be fine but we're in an affordability crisis and so many are just scraping by. Truly unacceptable, people need to be able to depend on payday!
