Ranged Options?

We're starting a new campaign soon and most of us have our characters. There's just one left to work out. Previously they played as a Mountain Dwarf Barbarian, but it was clear they prefer ranged fighting to being in the thick of things tanking damage.

I'll be going over some options with them tomorrow. Assuming they want to stick with ranged attacks and won't be multiclassing, I'm thinking the obvious choices are Fighter and Rogue.

I know Rangers get a bad rap, and none of us have played as one yet, but another thing our party tends to do is collect pets, so a bow hunter with an affinity for animals and not too much a focus on magic might appeal to them.

Any other recommendations? Unless I'm mistaken, full casters are not something they'll want to play at all, and if they might go for a half-caster, they'll lean more toward weapons than magic, but it can't hurt to have options.

Usually I get Cloud Picker beans, but they're pricy and I'm saving for a big holiday. Did a bit of searching on less expensive options, and Lavazza Espresso Gran Crema came up in some comparisons as being pretty decent.

I'm having some issues dialing in, and the adjustments I've tried so far haven't helped. Finer grinds seem to be a no-go even with less coffee, but I'm having trouble avoiding channelling and soggy pucks on other settings.

Anyone else use these beans? How much coffee do you use for a double shot, and what's your grind setting? I feel like a lot of beans are going to waste on trial and error.
