Hi, I'm a beat maker (I used MPCs), I make generally hiphop/boombap beats.

I have been thinking for a while to run freestyle contest over one of my beats and allow people to submit on YouTube with some distinctive hash tag (for tracking entries) and then post them on a polling site (or here) for people to vote on.

I would give cash prizes for like 1st and second. Mainly just for fun and community engagement and to have my beats heard.

I would provide a downloadable mp3 file, a rule would be a minute or less freestyle.

What do you guys think? Can you suggest a format or provide some insight on the best way to run this or would anyone be interested?

Trying to make this as painless and streamlined as possible;

1. download mp3
2. record a freestyle
3. upload to youtube
4. I track entries and create a voting page
5. pay top two
