Skills for life
I’ve been helping my kids study just using the basics of what worked for me through college, passing the CPA exams, CIA, CISA, etc over the years
My oldest daughter just called me to tell me she scored 5’s on both reading and math for her end of grade testing, super proud of her.
All I did was print out the released questions / mock tests, focused on what she got wrong (about half the questions), walked through how to solve them a few at a day, nothing major.
Just tossing it out there to pass on the studying habits and other things you learned. It’s been rewarding for me to share those things with my kids and give them a leg up where I can. They are going to have tests in school and almost all professions have some kinda testing requirements along the way never mind if you just want to learn something new for a hobby or anything.
Sounds pretty dumb and like it would be common sense but really I didn’t think about it day to day and it just hit me that I should be doing more for my kids overall and help them in ways my parents couldn’t help me.
But yeah shit I’ve always worked on passing on everything I know like how to build a PC, how to do basic car maintenance and how a car basically works, all sorts of random shit but I never thought to pass on the things it took to get me where I am in my career until recently.
