calling out of a 5am shift
Hi, i’m very new to trader joe’s and started just over 2 months ago. I’ve never called out before but i am scheduled a 5am-1am shift and it’s about 1:30 am right now. what time do i call to call out? what’s the earliest someone is in the store? will this negatively affect my performance review? yesterday i only got 3-4 hours of sleep and tonight i got no sleep at all. ive been trying to sleep since 9pm and just can’t fall asleep so i don’t think it’d be good for me to go in.
i’m just scared cause ive been late once or twice, and one time my first shift that wasn’t a 2-10 i accidentally was super late to. I forgot it was my first morning-ish shift (10am-6pm) and i called immediately at 12 when i realized and apologized profusely and they let me work a 1-9 that day. will this negatively affect my review? should i just suck it up and go in?
