# Changelog v1.1.2 (Upcoming update)

This update focuses on improving challenge creation, balancing difficulty, fixing reported bugs, and adding a few quality-of-life improvements.

Challenge Creation

  • Challenge lines now support more punctuation (", &, /, ) and automatically fix smart quotes, dashes, and extra spaces instead of rejecting them.
  • Challenge lines now support line breaks, so multi-line quotes render correctly in both previews and gameplay.
  • The author/source field now accepts commas (e.g. Plath, Sylvia).
  • Creators can now edit challenges regardless of their review state.

Share Results

Players can now add an optional custom message when sharing their results.

  • Share victories or failed attempts.
  • Add your own message or simply share the result as-is.

Difficulty Adjustments

  • Every difficulty tier now reveals one additional starting letter.
  • Logical ciphers now appear approximately 30% of the time (previously 10%).

Theme Changes

  • Minimal is now the default theme for new players.
  • The previous default theme has been renamed Classic.
  • Existing players will keep their currently selected theme.

Quests & Rewards

  • The Share quest now works with all challenge types, not just Daily Challenges.

Creator Improvements

Creators can now manage their own challenges much more easily.

  • Edit challenges after moderator feedback.
  • Continue updating challenges throughout the review process.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where locked tiles could remain locked after a network interruption. They now recover automatically without requiring a reload.
  • Various improvements to challenge creation validation and editing.

Thank you to everyone who reported bugs, created challenges, and shared feedback.

Bug Fix Update: (will hopefully to out by Wednesday)

Hello Decrypters,

I've fixed the bugs and issues we encountered in the last update, including keyboard access, creators not being able to see the likes/dislikes on their challenges, Hard and Expert challenges being a bit too difficult to solve, and creators not being able to update their challenges when asked to.

For the keyboard issue, I've added a new option in the Settings tab where you can manually choose between the on-screen keyboard and your system keyboard. There's also an Auto mode that will handle this for you.

I've lowered the difficulty of Hard and Expert challenges a bit. If they still feel too difficult, we can always adjust them further in future updates.

Sorry for the few days where some of you weren't able to play properly. Hopefully everything goes smoothly this time.

Happy Decrypting!

Update 1.0.1 is live now!!

Hello Decrypters,

Hope you're having a great day!

The new update is now live. Here's what you can do:

  1. Themes

If you like the default theme, great! If not, you can switch to the new Minimal theme from Settings (the gear icon in the top-right corner) → Themes.

  1. Create Your Own Challenges

You can now create your own challenges. Just tap the Create icon in the bottom navigation bar on the Home page and provide a challenge title, challenge line, and author name.

The game will show you the available difficulty options for your challenge. Once you've selected a difficulty, you can preview the challenge and, if you're happy with it, submit it for review. Once approved by the mods, it will be published for everyone to play.

  1. New Ranking System

The Global Leaderboard now includes a ranking/rating system. You'll gain or lose rating based on your wins, losses, and a few other factors.

I'll make a separate post explaining the system in more detail later, but for now, if two players have the same rating, their total points will be used as the tiebreaker.

  1. New Quests & Milestones

I've added new quests and milestones where you can earn additional rewards and unlock new flairs.

Thank you all for playing, sharing feedback, and helping improve Decrypt.

New Rating System, Challenge Creation & More

Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well and enjoying the game.

The new update is on its way, and I wanted to share a breakdown of everything that's new and what's been updated:

Create & Share Challenges

Create custom challenges and share them with the community.

The difficulty validator helps match challenges to Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert. Choose from the available difficulties, preview your challenge, and once you're satisfied, post it.

Power-up Changes

Rocket now reveals 3 letters.

Revised game economics. You might find some things cheaper and others more expensive.

Global Rating System

All players start at 500 rating.

Gain or lose rating based on puzzle difficulty and performance.

Flairs now have your global rank appended to them.

Updated Scoring & Rewards

Fewer mistakes = higher score.

Power-ups reduce your final score.

Bonus rewards for flawless solves (no mistakes and no power-ups used).

Better rewards for win streaks and faster solves.

Endless Mode rewards now decrease after retries. Solving a challenge on your first attempt gives the best rewards, and there are no longer unlimited free retries. (I noticed quite a few players using this loophole to solve Hard and Expert challenges in record time.)

More rewards have been added to quests and milestones.

Other Improvements & Fixes

Added leaderboard medals.

Added avatars and sharing improvements.

Added a startup screen.

Added daily auto-claim.

Fixed guess timing issues.

Fixed padlock unlocking issues.

Prevented players from self-playing their own challenges and claiming rewards.

Thanks for playing and helping improve Decrypt. Happy Decrypting!

I Need Your Feedback on Challenge Creation

Hello guys,

As you already know, I've been working on adding new features to the game. One of the latest additions is an Elo based ranking system, which you might have noticed when completing or failing a challenge.

I've also made some changes to the difficulty calibration for challenge creation to make it work better.

I still haven't seen anyone create a challenge yet, so I'd really love for you all to give it a try and share your feedback. It'll help me improve the system and make challenge creation more easy and fun.

Happy Decrypting.

Added for feature to the upcoming update.

Just screen recorded a quick video of myself testing the game. Didn’t have much time to edit it, so it’s completely raw and unedited, sorry about that.

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve been working on player challenge creation, and I’ve finally added Endless Mode too. It’s basically a compilation of all the challenges players will create, so initially it might feel a little empty... though hopefully everyone here fills it up in no time.

This also isn’t the final version of how everything will look. I’ll still be working on refining the challenge creation UI.

There’s also an Auto Mode now, where players can simply enter the title, challenge line, author name, etc., choose how difficult they want the challenge to be, preview it, and submit it if they like it, without the hassle of manually setting everything up.

Anyways, thank you so much for joining the community and showing love to the game. I’d really appreciate it if you could like the challenges and interact more with posts so the algorithm helps the community grow and makes all the effort worth it.

Happy Decrypting. Peace ✌️
