Human factors job as a Biomed Engineer undergrad

I have a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering BUT I have just finished my second year of working as a an ergonomist. Any advice of trying to switch career paths to be a HFE or should I instead try to go for a masters in human factors? I am just applying any entry and 2 years experience needed HFE job but not landing anything.

Job searching advice 2 years in ergonomics (BME)

Hello,

I just want to start by saying I currently work under the ergonomics field, not necessarily ergonomics engineering but more of data collection and a not so technical field. I have been working here for almost 2 years since I graduated. My contract will be over in a month and a half and I am looking for a job that’s more on the mechanical/electrical side.

I have my degree in biomedical engineering and I know most basic concepts in both mechanical and electrical fields with a special interest in 3d modeling. I have been struggling to find a job anywhere that will make me a top candidate based on my experience and interest. I have done 2 interviews with in the last 2 weeks with biomed companies that have gone to the last stage but the candidates were just better I guess. I am very passionate about engineering. I honestly do it for the love of the game. I am not picky about doing biomedical engineering or where I work. I just want to do design work or a job where I can use my technical skills and learn new things.

I understand this is a very common issue right now but I am so tired of applying to hundreds of jobs and not hearing anything back even when I am fully qualified for them. Reaching out to people on LinkedIn also has not worked and I left getting left on delivered. Is there anything else I can do or do I just keep applying and tailoring my resume for each job
