New engineer questions
I recently got offered a position as an engineer at NNS from a hiring event. I got my offer on Monday, accepted it, and am now waiting to hear back on additional forms I have to fill out. I'm excited to move forward, but I have some questions that maybe someone here could answer.
So my questions are:
I'm from out of state, so will they be covering the costs to fly me back out for my drug/medical evaluation? I scheduled it at the hiring event, but they didn't go into any travel details.
What is part of the physical abilities test and medical evaluation? Are they going to take blood for tests or is it more basic?
Any general advice on best areas to move to? So far, I've read not to live near the shipyard itself, and I've read good things about Kiln Creek, Hidenwood, and around the Christopher Newport University. Any advice or insight is appreciated though because I do not know the area at all.
