Title: Blood and pus cells in my 4 month old baby stool - possible CMPA?
My baby is almost 4 months old. About one month ago I noticed blood in her stool for the first time. We did stool and fecal calprotectin tests. The stool test showed many pus cells and red blood cells, and her fecal calprotectin was 750.
The pediatrician told me to cut , meat, and cacao/chocolate from my diet (I am breastfeeding).!!!After around 10 days of using metronidazole syrup the fecal calprotectin dropped to around 230 and blood became less, but sometimes still appears.
Did anyone experience something similar? Was it CMPA (cow’s milk protein allergy) or something else? How long did it take to improve?
