Adopting a kitten to teach my cat how to be a cat? 🤨
Hello! I have a tortie who was a single litter cat and was abandoned by her mom. Currently 3 years old.
Now, as she gets older, we’ve noticed she doesn’t understand how to react when her brother grooms her, she doesn’t really like to play with him unless its a very specific “toy hunting” activity.
She does enjoy having her brother around, she likes her toys and likes to cuddle with them, but her brother tries to play with her and she doesn’t really understand what’s happening.
Took her to the vet to see if this behavior was a brain issue. But the vet confirmed she’s just very anxious and most likely didn’t develop core skills she would have as a baby, leading her to not understand what playing is, or how to interact with her brother.
All that to say, would a kitten be the answer? Would that help her develop some of those core skills she missed because she was a single kitten? We moved into a big house and have a lot of space for a new sibling but wanted to get some input.
