I’m still in fantasyromance bc yall real ones over there.

But I unfollowed romantasy to quiet the noise. It still pops up in my feed constantly anyway. I had to mute it. It made me a little sad, but I can’t keep commenting to use the search function every day for the rest of my life. It’s a never ending stream of “I’m new to romantasy, I need some recs!” Forever.

I’ll still be here to catch the ridiculous stuff, but I’m currently a fallen soldier. The “what is a search function, please do the work for me” forces overwhelmed me and I just can’t get back up.

I’m gonna nap about it.

It’s happened a few times now, where something has been posted or commented in the WTF Wednesday or some such thread, and then not too long after I have stumbled upon it in a book. That just happened and I get so excited every time it does. It’s a layer of joy that would have otherwise just been a hard eye roll. So thank you sloopies 😘

The graphic audiobook has a full in-studio cast. Some great narrators. I was excited. It started out with some beautiful prose about death and grief and has some really well written moments that tug at the heart, from both the MCS. But then FMC and MMC meet and it isa just....fallig flat. The dialogue switches to borderline cheesy. I feel I can very much tell this was written by 2 very different people, and one would write deeply emotional prose then just hand the draft over to the other person who writes very superficial rom com banter that's not great and then they try to mash that together. It's halting, clumsy and disjointed.

Im 27% in. Should I tough it out? Is there a pay off?
