I bought a sunscreen in Rome in 2018 - help me remember what it is!!

I bought a sunscreen in Rome in July 2018. I even remember the Farmacia because I took a picture of it. Farmacia Giannangeli dr. Matteo, Piazza Benedetto Cairoli, 5, 00186 Roma RM, Italy.

I believe the sunscreen was for sensitive skin. It was in a long, narrow orange tube and my memory thinks it had like an airless pump on it. It wasn’t a common brand. I remember buying it because it had ingredients I understood like mineral sunscreens. However, it wasn’t like normal US sunscreens. It wasn’t drying or irritating. It was lightweight and moisturizing without being greasy and absorbed easily. I need to find it!!!

My seven year old gets contact dermatitis from most sunscreens and I need to find one that doesn’t make his skin peel off, get red or get bumpy. His skin is a mess right now and we are having a heatwave and I have to send him to day camp and I don’t know how to protect him. I also have sensitive skin and this mystery sunscreen didn’t bother me either.

After months of awful symptoms and being told to “just lose weight,” I finally found a doctor who took me seriously. My labs came back showing clear iron deficiency anemia and inflammation:

Abnormal labs:
• Ferritin: 7
• Iron: 28
• Iron saturation: 7%
• Hemoglobin: 10.5
• Hematocrit: 33.7
• MCH: 24.6
• MCHC: 30.8
• Platelets: 424
• CRP: 10.7
• ESR: 34

On top of that, I have Hashimoto’s, PCOS with insulin resistance, IBS, a history of gastritis, adenomyosis, and no gallbladder, so my digestion and absorption have always been tricky.

My doctor prescribed 325 mg ferrous sulfate, but I’m in a gastritis flare and I’m honestly scared to take it because I don’t want to make things worse. Everyone in my life keeps telling me to push for infusions, but I’m not sure what the right next step is.

For those with sensitive stomachs or absorption issues:
Is there anything gentler than ferrous sulfate that helped you? I don’t have the brain capacity to research right now and just want to set myself up for success.

I’m also wondering if I should ask my doctor about additional labs, especially because of family history (including a relative with pernicious anemia). Things like:
• Vitamin B12
• MMA (methylmalonic acid)
• Homocysteine
• Intrinsic factor antibodies
• Parietal cell antibodies
• Other nutritional markers, minerals, or electrolytes that might be relevant when ferritin is this low

Other context:
• I’m 44
• Periods are regular
• I take Sertraline, Lamictal, Tirosint, and Ativan PRN
• I have medical PTSD, panic disorder, and depression
• I have a 7‑year‑old neurodivergent son
• The palpitations becoming an all‑day thing is what finally pushed me to seek more help

I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for others, especially anyone who had trouble tolerating oral iron or ended up needing infusions.
