For the music majors

Hi po, UST is one of the options I have for college. Right now, I have UST as my primary option, and I'm about to take the auditions next Saturday. I have some questions lang po regarding the program

  1. How's the environment there like?

  2. Are the practice rooms there well maintained? How long can a student usually use them?

  3. How much theory and instrument proficiency are they expecting from applicants? Especially for composition. (Just for context of my music background, I've been learning piano for around 8 years and I started self teaching myself composition on and off for 2 years)

  4. I heard UST is more classical oriented, but for composition, will I also learn other genres such as Jazz?

  5. How strict are they with the haircut policy? Would you say they're more strict or lenient to what other High Schools usually enforce?

  6. Im not sure where Im supposed to ask this, but for the auditions, the requirements for composition are 2 mp3s of my original works, but am I supposed to submit my original works somewhere or am I supposed to show it to the panel on the day of the auditions itself?

Im considering Benilde po kasi for College. I took the Music theory exam and auditions na and passed, but right now im still deciding whether to commit to Benilde or to go to UST. I have a few questions lang po regarding the school:

  1. Whats the environment there like? How good are the professors at teaching?
  2. Does Benilde have practice rooms with a piano available for students to use? and if yes are they well maintained?
  3. How deep do you guys delve in with music theory, especially those under Composition?
  4. Would you say that it is worth the tuition?
