14 MONTHS POST OP

It’s been a journey. I did this for myself, and by myself. If you are on the fence - do it! I’ve been fortunate not to have any major complications — I did have my gallbladder removed as well. Foamies are gross, and so is tuna fish coming out your nose. 🤢

I’m a rule follower by nature, so in some ways this surgery fit me perfectly. But this is not the “easy way out.” It’s simply the tool I needed.

Some people have been strangely indifferent or less engaging, especially if they haven’t seen the progression firsthand. The hair loss is real, but thankfully it’s coming back.

Eating looks very different these days. I rely on Nurri vanilla protein shakes for protein, but also eat things like fruit, vegetables, cottage cheese, yogurt, pita chips, and occasionally chicken salad. Saying no to the treats at work now feels empowering instead of difficult.

And never in a million years would you have found me in a gym before this — but I’ve consistently gone to the YMCA 5 days a week for the last 5 months, using their EGym system.
