so i (f, 19) met a guy (m, 19) last year due to my best friend wanting his best friend, so basically a two man. things were looking pretty good, we had fun and a good time together and we obviously started liking each other, he was living 2hrs away from me but would come around every other day to see me, have a sleepover, go shopping, to festivals etc etc. so we would be seeing each other like 3-4 times a week, weekends anyway. it was only going good for me and him tho, our best friends relationship/situationship/humiliationship was rather toxic but eventually it was going downhill for us as well when he and his best friend would go on a boys trip in turkey alanya. i didnt mind because we were so open and honest with each other so i figured why not let him go. i knew that his best friend was a bad seed, but i thought he wouldnt get bro pressured in like 6 days. i was thinking wrong. anyhow they went, we had contact facetimed a few times and then they came back and i eventually found out that he really was cheating on me. i ofcourse ended things and moved on. fast forward 9 months we somehow ended up at the same event and started talking, reminiscing good old times, he was apologizing for his behavior and asked me if i could forgive this, since he wants me back and everything reminded him of me in the last few months (same with me weirdly). i was actually debating it, since i did like him, but then he said he will be going on another boys trip to croatia this summer with his friends and he doesnt want to cheat on me again...? and proceeded to ask me if i would wait for him for this trip to be over so that we can be serious. i was speechless and wasnt able to answer and then he told me to forget what he just said, that he doesnt want me to feel like the second choice and that he is honored that i even give him a chance to be back in my life. see now the thing is i do like him and i would want us to work, i just dont always want to be telling him what to do, and i definitely do not want to get cheated on again. but i strongly believe that people change. how would you handle this situation after prior experience? why would people ask to wait like this and what does that usually mean? would you try to save this?
