Having a 3rd and 4th generation Highlander has been a great experience. When I got my 2017 Limited Platinum Highlander, it was the best vehicle that I have owned that filled the bill for numerous things on a daily basis. Fuel economy was way better than my 4Runner as was the interior space. The ride quality was exceptional and smooth for long family trips, I thought it was more “truck looking” than the previous renditions and probably the best feature that I found I liked the most was that the back window opened. Shortly after getting it, I added remote start (MPC) and Apple CarPlay (NAVIKS) making it more modern and keeping up with the tech of newer cars. My wife wanted it and I decided to find her one for her and decided a hybrid would be best for her because she drives a lot more than I do. We found her 2022 Limited Hybrid and I was thinking that with it being a 4 cylinder it would be really lethargic with a vehicle of its size. We went to take it on a test drive and I was pleasantly impressed with its performance and exceeded my expectations. It was also packed with more features than what mine came originally with. Hers has the 360 camera same as the Platinum, it basically had all of the Platinum features minus the wheels and trim, HUD, and panoramic sunroof. The steering is so smooth and has really good road manners. It also had another feature which I was unaware of and that is that it keeps the vehicle centered in the lane and maintains the distance between it and the car in front of it and even negotiated curves on the highway (it did it for a couple of miles before I took over again and my hands were close to the wheel just in case). My 2017 has lane guidance but does not do this as the 2022 does. I plan on keeping them as long as I can and don’t know what I will switch them out with if I need to.

Just some pictures of my 2009 LS460 over the past few years and some of the minor things that I’ve done to it just to keep her around and make her more desirable to me. It still only has 75k on it and I bought it in 2017 with 61k on it. I had to get her painted and try to work with the sticky panels (I found out about the recall a few months too late). I changed the OEM wheels to the 20” VOXX road wheels and added the Phoenix Automotive 13” touchscreen since the OEM Mark Levinson system started failing (I didn’t lose the sound quality I think it sounds better since it has a built in equalizer that I can manually adjust). The windows are tinted with ceramic tint and an MPC remote start was added. I recently bought the Coverland seat covers and they are comfortable and easy to install and made it a little more aesthetically pleasing.
