I use SimpleLogin and make a unique alias for every account. I created one just for an Upstart loan application and used it nowhere else.

A short time later I received a legitimate Plenty of Fish email on that exact alias.

I've seen other people post about getting these Plenty of Fish emails and assume it's a typo. I believe this is intentional data selling from loan applications.
