Pour over clogging issues
I have recently started making pour over coffee. My gear is a TGL co. coffee dripper, hario filter paper and a gooseneck pot. I am making some medium ground beans(Arabica) from Araku.
I am following the usual method of first blooming the coffee for 30s before slowly pouring the rest. Water ration 1:16. The problem I face every time is clogging. When I bloom the coffee the water goes down fine. But a little later it clogs, and it takes much longer than the 3.25 minutes for it to go down.
A few things I have tried: varying the water temperature from <90 to 96+, pouring at the center, pouring slower/faster, waiting longer than 30s after blooming/not waiting at all, pausing several times/not pausing at all.
Whatever I have tried, I have not managed to avoid clogging. Now the taste of the coffee has not been bitter in any of these experiments. It varies from sour to tasteless.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated!
