Can an international actor here with an authentic American accent get work?

Hey guys

So I'm an internationally raised actor. I was born in europe but went to international school abroad in middle east and as a result I have a natural American accent. I have an EU passport which gives me the legal right to pursue work in uk/Ireland without a visa.

I haven't gone drama school but I've been personally trained by a sanford meisner/adler graduate in dublin.

What are my chances of succeeding here? I'm not "British Asian " or "British black" or "white". My coach told me theyre not gonna hire me for British roles even if i learn an rp accent when they have actual British actors. In ireland I was getting only brief for north american day player roles. But there weren't many leading or even supporting for me.

Should I move canada instead?

What do I do?

Would appreciate advice. Thanks!!

Stressed that I might not pass university- will I get a condoned grade?

So in my final year I've failed one module whilst passing the rest. My weighed average combining year 2(25%) and year 3 (75%) is 60% but I got 35 on one module assignment which was 100% for the module

I've been invited to attend my graduation but I'm really stressed out as I'm unsure if I've passed?

Does anyone know what I can do in this situation??? This is 3 years of my life which feels like it's gone down the drain

What stem masters are most in demand in usa?

Hey guys

So I'm an Irish citizen who's graduated with a degree in economics from the UK. I want to move to usa and my plan is doing a masters in a demand stem field. What field would be the most demand at the moment?

I can do data analytics from my course. I'm thinking of a masters in stem so I can get an opt for 3 years

Any potential ideas? What about the health care industry? Healthcare policy making. Is there a demand for teachers? I've considered a career path in teaching aswell, is it possible to do a masters there to ultimately become a teacher?

I'm not big into tech, I am personally fine with a middle class lifestyle.

Irish citizen who wants to move to USA. Is masters degree route feasible?

Hey guys

So I'm an Irish citizen who's graduated with a degree in economics from a UK university. I want to consider moving to usa which I am aware is quite difficult. Right now the only "hard skill" I can do is data analytics and some coding but I'm not looking for a career in that field long term

I wanted to ask - would doing a masters be a good way to get my foot there? I'm considering a graduate degree in MBA or business accounting etc related as I'm not the best in STEM unfortunately.

Also, any thoughts on h1b cap exempt? I looked I it and I think non profit organisations such as colleges, research institutions etc will sponsor a visa without having to pay 100k?

Should I consider a masters that gets me in this pathway?

Would appreciate any advice!

International raised actor struggling to fit in London - Advice?

Hey guys would appreciate some advice

So I was born in the UK , lived a bit in Ireland but grew up in the middle east in a typical international school I pretty much stayed there until 20 and then came back to the UK.

Problem is: I have an authentic north american accent due to my globalised upbringing which is hindering me from getting work in europe. My passport is from the UK.

Ethnically: I'm morrocan. I struggle to be put in a box. I can pass for being Latin American, middle Eastern, mixed race, southern Mediterranean.

What can I do in my situation? I'm not British Black/British Asian / White British. I don't have an authentic English accent. I'm "ambigous" looking. To top it off, I'm stuck with my north american accent.

All my training was done under an old retired producer/director from new york who trained under Sanford Meisner and Stella Adler. I never went to drama school to learn acting here. I've kind of done it the american way by attending studios/workshops and private coaching.

How do I build a career? Should I try find an agent who can market me to american producers? Is that possible? Are there american producers who look for those with authentic American accents in the UK? I can't even submit myself for work in short films here because they're all English stories.

Would appreciate peoples advice. Thanks!

Anyone here ever face prejudice or a bigoted attitude in England as an Irish person?

So i was Born here and did half my schooling here and abroad aswell in an international school to south asian parents.

Just finished a 3 year Bachelor in England and jeez are they incredibly not only racist but also casually xenophobic. First time in my 23 years did I hear the slur p*** used here which shocked me as a south asian. Never heard it my time abroad so its wild hearing people throw it out casually here. They've got such extreme deprivation and a hyper agressive masculine urban culture in the big cities.

Also they're incredibly ignorant of Ireland's own distinct culture/history. I think just having a multicultural identity has opened my eyes to all kinds of bigotry

I did history in both ireland and abroad. In ireland we were taught about the plantations. Abroad we were taught England's role in stopping ww2 lol

So much for being a diverse progressive society lol. Anyone else who lived in England have similar experiences??

Quarter life crises at 25 - Realised I'm meant to be an actor?!

I just finished a 3 years economics degree and I've come to the realisation that I truly love acting and everything to do with it. I got into this at the age of 18 and went at it for 3 years with an agent and then took at a break at 22.l to go back to college.

When I was 22, my friend and I were deciding to go drama school or not. He ultimately graduated with a bfa whereas I thought I'd get a intellectual degree to fallback on whilst juggling this dream on the side.

Now at 25 having just finished college, I feel like I've been putting on a facade this whole time and I'm feeling the impulse from my soul to just plunge into this fully. I don't wanna please others anymore.

Dis anyone else go through a similar phase where they felt themselves drawn to acting acting after a break?!

Would love to hear other people's experiences

Hey guys

So I'll (24) be graduating from college with a Bachelor's in economics. Prior to entering college I did a couple jobs here and there to learn more about myself, mainly sales, hospitality and bar work.

In the last few years especially from my degree, I've realised I absolutely do not enjoy research, statiscal analysis doing econometrics etc writing or sitting behind a computer.

Is there such thing as a high paying job that doesn't involve doing back end/analytic evaluation roles?

I enjoy using my interpersonal communication, speaking to people and connecting talents together and coming up with new ideas.

Outside of my degree, I did get involved in organising dance events/showd for college which I enjoyed. I'm also interested in global affairs, events, pop culture etc happening around the world.

Someone suggested I should get into SAAS BDR/SDR however I'm not excited by tech. Is tourism a good industry? PR?

Should I pursue a career in what I'm interested in or what I'm good at naturally?

I'm unsure as to what career to do after I graduate. The way I think about this is what tasks energise or drain me.

Would appreciate anyone's advice thanks!
