I need to bond the rebar for my hottub slab before the concrete is poured. I’m assuming I just use split bolts to hold the copper in place? I don’t have my hottub yet, so I don’t know the exact place that the copper needs to stick up at so can I have the copper go into a junction box which is then connected to the hot tub?

I’ve worked in electrical before but never dealt with pools so all of this is new to me and I can’t wrap my head around it.

My mom is getting a hottub this month. In Ontario, there’s a new requirement to bond the cement rebar in either four equal spots, or as a ring around the tub. The hot tub install is getting inspected which means the bonding also needs an inspection.

The concrete guys said they have never done that before, but can do it for us. I’m the one that booked the inspection, so can someone run me through what this should look like?

We technically only need to bond in 4 spots, but we have enough bare copper to do the full ring which sounds easier to me. I’m assuming this requires grounding clamps and can’t just be sitting on top of the rebar?

I have a decent electrical understanding but I’ve never had to work around pools so this is all new to me.
