Stittsville Sci-Fi Book Club
I’m thinking to start a sci-fi book club here in Stittsville and I’m looking for other Stittsville residents that would be interested in joining.
I’m envisioning the club will cover a mix of authors from classic sci-fi to more modern. Think of authors such as Robert A. Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, William Gibson, Andy Weir, Neal Stephenson, Martha Wells, etc.
The plan will be to meet once a month at a local Stittsville coffee shop and/or restaurant. There is no cost to join but if we do meet at a local business, then you would be responsible for covering your own drink/food.
The group is open to all adults. You don’t need to be a literary geek to join. You just need to have an interest in books and reading.
For our first meeting, I’d like to do an informal meet and greet over coffee. Talk about authors we like, what we’re reading right now, come up with a list of books we want to read as a group and cover basic logistics.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in or if you have any questions, please comment below. I’m hoping to end up with 8-12 people in the group. Basically a small enough group to allow people to get to know either other and not too big so that everyone has sufficient time to share their views.
