How to potentially include all 4 Robert-Endings in Season 2

Hey folks,

Since we got around roughly 6 Months after Dispatch's final Episode released there's been some Information coming in various Interviews.

Some thing, which got me caught was the question of if and how the Developers might include all 4 Character/Decision Endings for Robert.

As we know there are now officially 4 different Endings:

  • True Hero
  • Anti-Hero
  • Everyman
  • Tactician

Since we got it under the radar confirmed, that our choices shall carry over and they converge the Endings early on I kind of figure out they will use a Choice System similar to Telltale. That could either be a recap of all Major decisions or a potential save file Transfer, perhaps even both for new and old Players. The recap would then play automatically.

To narrow it down those choices might be:

  • Who did you romance?
  • Who did you cut?
  • Did you save the City?
  • Did Invisigal catch the bullet or kill Shroud? -> Was Shroud spared or killed?
  • Optional: Did you welcome Coupé/Sonar back?

Now if we give those major decisions points it may look like this (True Hero|Anti-Hero|Everyman|Tactician)

  • Romance (+0|+0|+0|+0)
  • Cut (+0|+0|+0|+0)
  • Saved the City? -> Yes (+1|+0|+1|+2) -> Failed (+0|+1|+0|-1)
  • Invisigals Ending -> Hero (+1|+0|+0|+1) -> Villain (+0|+1|+1|+0)
  • Shrouds Fate -> Spared (+1|+0|+1|+0) -> Killed Auto-set at Villain Visi (-1|+1|+1|+0)
  • Welcomed back Coupé/Sonar? -> Yes (+1|+0|+1|+1) -> No Auto-set when Failed (+0|+1|+1|+0)

This kind of Point System gives Robert a Profile/Status and could be implemented in key Situations by one liners:

Example: Tutorial of Season 2

Blazer: "As part of SDN's protocols a Dispatcher has to undergo basic evaluation via our Training Simulation when being suspended [Shroud killed, Invisigal Hero]/temporary reliefed [Shroud spared or Invisigal Villain] from duty...even for SDN's top performing Dispatcher [Tactician >=2]/...even for relatively new Dispatchers."

-> True Hero: "Time to get back to work" -> Anti-Hero: "Come on, I wasn't off Service that long" -> Everyman: "Ready for Round 2 when you are"

In that kind of way the decisions could be honored while only provide minor divergence in key Situations.

What do you think? Let me know!
